Teamwork and Collaboration: How Ocean Force Lived Ocean Guild Beyond the Office

Teamwork and collaboration

Some obstacles can be overcome alone. Others require something more: trust, courage, and people willing to reach out a hand.

For Ocean Force, a team made up of colleagues from different companies across Ocean Investments, Legion Run became much more than a physical challenge. It became a real-life example of teamwork and collaboration, and of what our value, Ocean Guild, looks like beyond the office.

Led by captain Yordan Rusev from VIP Security, the team faced mud, walls, ramps, and obstacles where individual strength was simply not enough. In those moments, titles, roles, and company names disappeared. What mattered was whether you could rely on the person next to you, and whether you were ready to help the person behind you.

When There Is No “I”, Only “We”

“There is no ‘I’ there. When you stand in front of a smooth wall, you realize that without someone else’s help, you can go no further,” says Alexander Dobrev from VIP Security.

That simple experience captured something essential about teamwork and collaboration. Everyone had an individual role, but success was collective. People took initiative when needed, waited for one another, shared responsibility, and adapted to the challenge in front of them.

As Yordan Rusev puts it, the team understood each other almost without words. Everyone knew when to take the lead and when to support the common goal.

Leaving Ego in the Mud

For Kamelia Tsvetanska from AMATAS, the ramp was one of the toughest obstacles and one she managed to overcome thanks to the team.

“There are no impossible obstacles when you are not alone,” she shares.

That was perhaps the biggest lesson of the day. Ego stayed in the mud. Cooperation took its place.

Alexandra Metodieva from S Management describes it as the true strength of Ocean Guild: having the courage not only to offer a hand, but also to accept one. Because trust works both ways.

Ocean Guild Beyond the Office

Legion Run also showed that teamwork and collaboration are not limited to meetings, projects, or shared goals at work. They are built through everyday actions: supporting someone, taking responsibility, stepping forward when needed, and making sure no one is left behind.

The Ocean Force team did exactly that. And, remarkably, their support did not stop with their own team. Dobromir Stilyanov from AMATAS recalls that Ocean colleagues helped other teams along the way too. This is Ocean Guild in action – the belief that when one person succeeds, everyone moves forward.

More Than a Race

For Ocean Force, Legion Run was not simply a sporting event. It was a shared experience that brought colleagues from different companies closer together and turned our values into something tangible.

As Ivanina Ivanova from VIP Security reflects, Health and Ocean Guild are both essential to success: physical activity builds energy and resilience, while mutual support helps us overcome challenges and achieve more together. The biggest obstacles are rarely overcome alone.

At Ocean Investments, initiatives like this are part of a broader commitment to building a workplace culture based on community, wellbeing, and meaningful dialogue.
